India cricket captain Virat Kohli features among the world's highest-paid athletes, as per a recent Forbes list. Kohli is the only sportsperson from India in the list. He is at number 83 with earnings of USD 24 million. Notably, the list does not feature any female athletes.

The list is topped by American boxer Floyd Mayweather, who has earnings of USD 285 million. According to PTI, Kohli has an annual retainer of over USD 1 million.

"Yet like the Indian cricket mega-stars who have come before him, Kohli's big payday comes off the pitch,” Forbes said.

Serena Williams was the only woman in the top 100 last year but has dropped out. There are 40 NBA players in the list this time as compared to 32 last year. LeBron James leads the list with USD 85.5 million.
